PETER Andre’s father-in-law has been recognised in the New Year’s Honours List.

Mr MacDonagh is made a BEM for services to healthcare, particularly in Zanzibar.

Mr MacDonagh, 55, a consultant in urology at Taunton’s Musgrove Park Hospital, founded the charity HIPZ in 2006 to improve healthcare after working on the island.

He hit the headlines operating on singer Peter Andre, who went on to marry his daughter.
