MALDON & TIPTREE 1 HARINGEY BOROUGH 2

Despite the last minute dropping out of two central defenders and horrendous travel difficulties causing late arrival leading to a kick off at 8.10pm Borough shrugged off these setbacks and turned in a performance which got better as the game wore on. The first half was an even affair with neither side creating any gilt-edged chances and not many half chances either. But it was a different story after the interval as Borough totally dominated the opening exchanges and went ahead on 51 minutes when Daniel Arisitdou smashed home a drive from some 15 yards out on the right of the penalty area and better was to follow 9 minutes later when overlapping full back Rakim Richards who has become a regular scorer of vital goals, drove home a second from what seemed an impossible angle, also from the right of the penalty box.
It was as well he did for the home side who had rarely threatened did pull one back after 82 minutes, albeit with some unfortunate defensive mis-kicks, through their new signing Sam Newson who has been a prolific scorer with Premier Division Needham Market. The centre back crisis was ably solved by recent signing Farshad Roohy following his long awaited International Clearance from Iran and Macauley White who would not otherwise have started also made a valuable contribution from left back in what was a superb team effort which lifted Borough to 20th in the table, one point behind Soham Town Rangers who they visit on Saturday 12th. Next up at Coles Park will be Thamesmead Town on Tuesday 15th.
