First Division

omonia 2015

Omonia are looking down at the league table as they top the KOPA league at the end of the year. The Greens are looking good under the management team of Dino Ippocratous and Tony Ponnou.  They have two prolific goalscorers in Yiannis Varoufxakis and Adem Ali who will be trying to keep them there.

Verdict Runners up

Tripimeni-Olympia a merger of two clubs under manager Steve Cinotti have recovered from a bad start to finish second at the end of the year. It’s a transition year for them as they lost  and gained new players.

Verdict Third place

Brotherhood started the season with an extended unbeaten run but seem to be very inconsistent and are a surprising  third place at the end of the year. They will depend alot on their striker Aaron Kennedy.

Verdict Fifth place

New Salamis last year’s champions are 4th at the year end but have games in hand over the teams above them. They are having a tremendous season and are in the last 16 of the FA Sunday Cup. And are favourites to win the LFA Sunday challenge Cup. They have been made stronger with the addition of Ahmet Rifat from Tripimeni.

Verdict Champions

Anorthosis is another team not able to keep a flow of winning results. They have lost key players but still up there with the help of their manager Marios Koureas. Star player Danny Coolridge is still their backbone.

Verdict Fourth place

Livadia have kept themselves afloat mid table but manager Nick Demetriades  needs to build a bigger squad to sustain their position. They depend a lot on strikers Samir and Elias to score goals.

Verdict Sixth place

APOEL started poorly but with the addition of Andy Fellahoudi to assist manager Chris Zacharia has stabilised the team and have started picking up points.

Verdict Seventh place

KLN are well disciplined under their manager Kenny Dyer and are always up to give any team a good game. But maybe they need some more quality players.

Verdict Eighth place

Cetinkaya Cinar had their problems at the start of the season and are now hoping to see better days. Ahmet Sade is still their manager and hopefully he will turn things round for them.

Verdict Ninth place

Maronites another newly promoted team to the first division who have found it difficult to adjust. They are an amazing team always battling even when they are down , by still creating chances a prime example was their 5-5 draw with KLN

Verdict Tenth place

Second Division

st panteleimon 1

St Panteleimon league newcomers are doing exceptionally well to finish the year top of the table. They have a nice set up there with manager Michael Frangeskou and a key player in top striker Nick Salapatas.

Verdict Runners up

Asha a big surprise to see them in second place. The introduction of Michael Vazanias to their side has given them steel plus the prowess of top goalscorer Chris Spyrou has given the Asha manager Mario Kyriakides a peace of mind.

Verdict third place

Pantel have done well to be in third place at the end of the year, they are much improved and they have had some convincing wins but also dropped silly points. Manager Jack Markou needs to get his team to improve on their consistency. They rely on Andrew Kitipos for goals with new signing John Joe Walsh they have tightened their defence.

Verdict Fourth place

Komi Kebir are fourth but well placed to challenge for the second division championship and have games in hand over the teams above them. Manager Nick Hanna has a new assistant this season in Kypros Panaretou and there is a certain buzz about them this season.

Verdict Second division champions

Arachne are a mystery package this season, I expected more from them , they started badly but now we are seeing  improved results with their players Ant Panayi and Lorenzo Toumazos coming good.

Verdict Fifth place

Achna maybe bottom but surprised everybody by beating top of the table St Panteleimon at the Hive recently. They have a good manager in Tas Anastasi and i can see things improving especially if Theoklis Charalambous keeps scoring.

Verdict Sixth place
