Christmas shoppers have another reason to drop by their local high street on Small Business Saturday, as we waive parking charges across the borough.

It will be free to park in council-run car parks and pay and display bays on December 5, a day earmarked for celebrating local traders.

There is a host of activities planned across the borough on the day to mark the national campaign.

Noel Park and Myddleton Road Markets are teaming up to offer a Christmas Market  in Duckett’s Common, and along High Road Wood Green there will be music from local artists as well as a ‘pop up’ Colombian street food kitchen.

Tottenham Green Market will run throughout the day, offering a range of the area’s finest independent food, drink and crafts as Christmas gift ideas and in Crouch End there is a festive craft market, offering a range of beautiful and handmade gifts.

Haringey Council Cabinet Member for Environment Cllr Stuart McNamara said:

“We are delighted to make parking free in Haringey to mark Small Business

Saturday. We have a great range of independent and unique stores in our borough and we hope that this will give people an added incentive to shop local.”

Controlled Parking Zones and other essential parking restrictions, such as if roadworks are taking place or if they are necessary to ensure traffic flows smoothly during peak hours, will remain in force on Small Business Saturday and motorists should look out for local signage.
