Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued a man from a fire at a block of flats on Talbot Close in Tottenham, in the early hours of this morning.

The man was treated by London Ambulance Service and taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation and burns.

Half of a three roomed flat on the ground floor was damaged by fire.

Firefighters from Tottenham fire station attended the incident.

The Brigade was called at 0516 and the fire was under control at 0549. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
