President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has sent a message to President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades wishing him a speedy recovery after the heart operation he underwent on Tuesday at Mount Sinai hospital in New York.

The procedure was performed by heart surgeon Professor Dr David Adams and concerned the repair of the mitral and the tricuspid heart valve.

According to an official press release issued here, Putin said in his message to the President: “I wish to express my wholehearted sincere encouragement and support in view of the surgical procedure that you underwent. I wish you wholeheartedly the fastest full recovery and an auspicious return to your duties. I hope that we will meet soon”.
