81-YEAR-OLD ex-Bolshoi ballet dancer, Vlason Stanislav, has been missing from his Limassol home since Friday morning, police said on Saturday.

The 81-year old, who suffers from dementia, was last seen at around 8:00am and appeared to be in good health. Limassol police spokesperson Ioannis Soteriades said that a blue jacket worn by Stanislav was found on a construction site last night.

The Russian national wore red pants and a red sweater when he was last seen.

Police officers, search and rescue (EMAK) officers, volunteer reservists and police dogs are currently scanning the area to locate the man. Yermasogeia mayor Andreas Gavrielides was also at the scene.

Stanislav lives in Cyprus with his wife, who is also an ex-ballet dancer. She reportedly started locking the house doors after the 81-year-old left his home three times in the past.

Police suspect that the ex-ballet dancer managed to leave the house through the kitchen window and jumped over the one metre and a half fence surrounding his home.

Police are requesting anyone who might have information on the man’s whereabouts to contact authorities at the toll-free number 1460.
