The country’s first anti-spitting by-law has come into force in Enfield.

Serial spitters will can now be fined up to £500 by litter patrol if found guilty.

The Enfield Over 50s forum have campaigned in the past few years to get spit off our streets and managed to get 4,800 signatures for their petition.

The by-law was granted in July this year by the government.
