Hundreds of Greek Cypriots crossed the Green Line on Saturday to celebrate St Andrew’s day at the Turkish occupied monastery of Apostolos Andreas in the Karpas peninsula.
The occupation regime permitted the bishop of Karpas Christoforos to officiate the church service in the occupied monastery.
Among the pilgrims were Disy president Averof Neoophytou and other members of his party as well as First Lady Andri Anastasiades who also celebrated her saint’s day on Saturday.
Also present was Mufti Sakir the second ranking cleric of the Turkish Cypriots
