Charalambos Neophytou, a Cypriot scientist from Nicosia, has been awarded the Thurn und Taxis award for forest sciences, in Germany.

The award is given once a year to young scientists that exhibit outstanding performance in forestry research and was introduced in 1978 at the request of Prince Johannes von Thurn und Taxis.

Neophytou’s research focused on the genetic diversity of oaks.
