Roads to Troodos are accessible only for four wheel vehicles or cars equipped with snow chains following heavy snowfall in the area, police said on Sunday.
Police are warning drivers to be particularly carefully because of fog and difficult road conditions in the mountains.
The police announcement came as winter returned to Cyprus after milder weather of the past few days. Temperatures have plunged and heavy rains reported throughout the island  particularly in the mountains.
The unsettled weather will continue until Tuesday.
There were minor accidents in Aradippou and Kophinou after heavy hail storms, while the fire brigade was called out to help pump water from a house in Pyrga
