A 57-YEAR-OLD shop manager was robbed at gun-point during the early hours yesterday in Nicosia, police said.

According to the police press office, the man was driving his car on Tseriou Avenue in Strovolos, when the passenger of the car in front of him got out and approached him, pointing a gun and taking three envelopes containing the weekend’s takings of around €1,300. The armed man then took the 57-year-old’s phone and car keys and threw them into a near-by field before hopping back into other car and getting away with his accomplice. The robber is described as being of thin build, 1.75 metres tall and was wearing a black jacket, dark trousers and a balaclava over his head. Police did not say whether the victim had managed to get the licence plate of the vehicle.
