A Limasol man, who was driving while over the alcohol limit, is in custody today following his involvement in a car accident in Limassol which cost the life of a 28-year-old Philippines. The woman, Vanessa Gentianos, had been sweeping outside on Charilaos Psiloforou street in Limassol when the incident occurred at 6:40am. Police officer Emilios Kaffas told CNA that the accident had been caused by a 26-year-old driver who had lost control of the vehicle he was driving and crashed into a parked vehicle, then into another vehicle which pushed the second car into a third vehicle. “The unfortunate 28-year-old housekeeper was sweeping the road between the two parked vehicles when she was fatally injured.” The 28-year-old was taken by ambulance to Limassol General hospital where she was pronounced dead by doctors. Officers at the scene of the accident breathalysed the 26-yea-old driver and recorded a final reading 72 milligrams, more than three times the legal limit 22mg. The driver was arrested and will be brought before the District Court of Limassol.
