The police have ordered an investigation into the death of a man who died of bullet wounds he suffered during a police chase on Christmas eve.
Police spokesman Andreas Angelides said it was a tragic and very serious incident and the Police Chief immediately  ordered a probe into all aspects of the case.

Angelides said the investigating officer received instructions to prepare he report as soon as possible.
He said the report will be handed to the Attorney General who will decide on further action.
The dead man was one of three men in a car which was chased by police after a reported burglary of a electrical appliances store in the outskirts of Nicosia.
Police said that there was an exhcange of shots as a police car chased the vehicle of the three suspects through the southern suburbs of Nicosia.
Initial reports said the man had been slightly wounded by stray shotgun pellets fired by one of the three men but he died on Christmas day.
A post mortem report yesterday said his death resulted out of multiple wounds caused by a bullet fired from a distance.
