League leaders Anorthosis came back from a goal down to win 2-1 in Paralimni Sunday to maintain their 4 point gap at the top of the table. APOEL and AEK picked up precious away wins yesterday against Doxa and Apollon respectively to close the gap on league leaders Anorthosis on Saturday. Paralimni took the lead after just 4 minutes through an Andreas Constandinou header. Anorthosis managed to pull one back early in the second half when Laborde equalised in the 49th minute. Anorthosis push for the win and made the decisive breakthrough with just seven minutes left of the match when Spatsio scored.

APOEL won 3-0 with goals from in-form strikers Gustavo Manduca on 26 and 29 minutes in the first half with a the third from Alto Atorno midway through the second half to wrap up a comfortable win. Ran Ben Simon’s AEK were made to work for their win by Apollon at the Tsirion. Before the game the coach had talked up his side’s character and quality and both were needed for the win in Limassol. AEK are three points behind APOEL in the standing with 34 from 15 games, with the Nicosia team four points behind Anorthosis.

Omonia also picked up three points on Saturday winning at home 2-1 against Ethnikos Achnas to take them up to fifth in the table with 28 points. But they still trail AEL who won 3-2 at Alki to take their tally to 30 points. Other results New Salamis drew 1-1 with AEP and Olympiakos beat Ayia Napa 3-2.
