A cafe has been closed for three weeks after a haul of expensive equipment was stolen in a break-in.

Thieves smashed through a window at the back of Chorak, in Muswell Hill Broadway, Muswell Hill, sometime between 6.30pm on November 7 and 7.30am the next day.

The suspects, believed to be two white men, grabbed thousands of pounds worth of coffee and hot chocolate making machinery, as well as two empty cash tills, before loading them into a wheelie bin and escaping down Queens Avenue.

The cafe said it does intend to re-open, but is unable to confirm when that is expected to happen.

Trainee Det Con Victoria Potts said: “I would particularly like to speak to anyone that saw the unusual sight of two men wheeling a wheelie bin along Queens Avenue on the night of Monday, November 7.”
