Seven bodies with gunshot wounds have been found in a flat by police in the US state of Texas.
The victims – four women and three men – were discovered in the town of Grapevine, just outside Dallas.
Local police said they believed one person shot the other six before committing suicide, according to TV reports.
It is thought they were attacked as they opened their Christmas presents.
The ages of the victims reportedly range from late teens to sixties. Their names have not been released.
They are believed to be three generations of the same family. There was no sign of forced entry at the property.
Police said two handguns were found at the scene.
The town of Grapevine has a population of just 46,000.
Sgt Robert Eberling of Grapevine’s police department said: “This is tragic. It’s something our department hasn’t seen before, especially in a city like Grapevine,
“It’s something we’re used to reading about. We’re shocked.”
