Police have launched a double murder investigation after the bodies of a 24-year-old Moldovan woman and her three-year-old daughter were found on Tuesday.

According to reports, the woman was found dead from a gunshot wound to the face in the driver’s seat of a rental car in the Riccos beach area. The body of the toddler was found face down in the sand 50 metres away from the car.

The 24-year-old, who was four months pregnant, was reported missing earlier on Monday.

Reportedly, she was divorced and living with a Cypriot man for the last few years.
