Businessman Antonis Fanieros will remain in custody until his trial date on January 22, 2012, the Larnaca Criminal Court decided on Tuesday.
Fanieros, 67, faces charges including racketeering, actual bodily harm, kidnap arson and robbery.
A number of witnesses in the case have already retracted statements linking Fanieros to a racketeering ring
