The Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus (CMP) has thanked Cyprus for its latest generous donation of €240,000 which has enabled the CMP to extend the working area of its Anthropological Laboratory to accommodate a larger team of scientists in order to expedite the identification process of the remains of missing persons within the framework of its project on the Exhumation, Identification and Return of Remains of Missing Persons in Cyprus.
To date, human remains representing over 830 individuals have been exhumed while over 310 missing persons have been identified and their remains returned to the families concerned.
The CMP is aiming to locate, exhume, identify and return as many remains as possible and to do everything needed in order to bring an end to the uncertainty which has affected so many families for so many years, it added.
