Anorthosis lost at home to AEK in the Larnaca derby. AEK who sacked their manager Tom Caanen during the week came out strongly in this game and were rewarded with a goal in the 51st minute with Garcia. Three minutes later Anorthosis were awarded a penalty which was taken by Rezek but the AEK goalie Negri pulled off a magnificent save to halt Anorthosis. This puts AEK in 5th place with 17 points and Anorthosis 4th with 19 points
In the other game tonight second placed AEL beat Olympiakos 3-2 with AEL’s goals coming from Cafu and Endmar making it 2-0 half time after the break Olympiakos pulled one back with Mirosavilevits. AEL increased their lead with a goal from Vouo with a well taken penalty. Olympiakos scored another in the 88th minute with a goal from Koita. AEL are on 24 points two points behind leaders Omonia.
