Turkish Cypriot daily Havadis (07.07.11) reports that Turkish Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglu will travel to Brussels next week to meet senior EU officials.

Eroglu will be visiting Brussels from July 13 to 15. He is scheduled to meet European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, European Parliament President Jerzy Buzek and EU Commissioner for Enlargement Stefan Fule.

The paper also reports that according to reliable sources, it is expected that during Eroglu’s contacts in Brussels the opening of Turkey’s ports to Cypriot vessels within the framework of the Additional Protocol 10 and the package regarding the initialization of international flights from and to the occupied airport of Tymvou will be discussed as an exchange.

It is also reported that Eroglu tried to arrange these meetings in Brussels prior to the Geneva summit, however, the confirmation of the appointments came while Eroglu was already in Geneva. The paper reports that it will be an opportunity for Eroglu to convey what the Turkish Cypriot side thinks regarding the summit.
