Unemployment rate in Cyprus reached 7.4% in May 2011, compared to 7.2% in April 2011, according to data published by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Union.

The euro area seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was 9.9% in May 2011, unchanged compared with April. It was 10.2% in May 2010. The EU unemployment rate was 9.3% in May 2011, unchanged compared with April. It was 9.7% in May 2010.

The unemployment rate for males in Cyprus was 7.2% compared to 6.9% in April, for females was 7.6% compared to 7.5% and the youth unemployment rate stood at 18.9% in March 2011.
