President Demetris Christofias and Turkish Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglu discussed on Thursday about the meeting they will have on July 7 with the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki moon, in Geneva, and authorized their representatives to continue the discussion on Saturday.

In statements after a meeting of the two leaders here today, in the framework of UN-led direct negotiations aiming at a settlement of the Cyprus problem, UN Secretary General`s Special Representative in Cyprus Lisa Buttenheim said the two leaders “continued their exchange of views in a positive climate mainly focused on the police issue. They also discussed external relations and the forthcoming meeting that they will have with the Secretary-General in Geneva.“

“The leaders authorized their representatives to continue the discussion on Saturday with a view to concluding on this. The representatives will meet at 10:30 on Saturday morning. The outcome of the meeting on Saturday will be subject to the approval of the leaders,“
