VICTORY FOR STEVE WEBSTER IN CYPRESSA CUP.
Steve Webster won the Cypressa Cup last Wednesday 13th July at Mentmore Golf & Country Club, Bedfordshire. with 75 points. Steve who mixed with a lot of Cypriots from his school days at Holloway School is a past winner of major trophies. He won the Challenge Shield in 1994, the Masters in 1996, the fourball better ball with Lakis Chrysostomou in 1998 and the Texas Scramble in 2001.
A field of 52 members of the Cypriot Golf Society participated in the Cypressa Cup. After 20 years of sponsorship of this event Katsouris Brothers Ltd are pulling out. All the members of the Society thank Katsouris Brothers Ltd and Cypressa for their generous support over the last 20 years. The Captains Charity Sweepstakes raised £365.00 with Andy Lanitis winning the fourball voucher which was kindly donated by Mentmore Golf Club. Andy generously donated it back and was auctioned raising another £100.00. The total raised so far this year stands at £1795.00.
After the meal and the speeches the Captain, Abe Basri and the President Chris Antoniou presented the trophies to the winners:
