Ambassador Evagoras Vrionides, presented his credentials Tuesday to Ukraine’s President, Victor Yanukovych, as the Republic of Cyprus’ first ambassador to the country, based in Kiev.

Addressing the Ukrainian President, Vrionides conveyed the greetings of President of the Republic Demetris Christofias and wishes for progress and prosperity of the people of Ukraine.

He referred to the close relations between Cyprus and Ukraine and the government’s decision to open an embassy of the Republic of Cyprus. He finally conveyed the wish for continued and fruitful cooperation for the benefit of both countries.
