Cypriot Foreign Minister called for immediate ceasefire in Libya, in his intervention at the third meeting of the Libya Contact Group, held in Abu Dhabi, on 8-9 June.

According to an official statement issued here Thursday, Kyprianou also underlined the need for the protection of the citizens and for the immediate distribution of humanitarian aid.

Furthermore, Cypriot FM underlined the need for the establishment of efficient political, democratic and economic institutions in order to form a competent civil society and to promote the investment in the fields of research, education and development.

In the margins of the meeting, Cypriot FM met a delegation of the Libyan Transitional Interim Council.
