Cyprus has secured the first place in the medal table of the 14th Games of Small States of Europe (GSSE) for the fifth consecutive tournament.

Cyprus was represented at the games, held in Liechtenstein from May 30 to June 4, by 118 athletes who competed in 10 sports, namely athletics, cycling, judo, shooting, squash, swimming, table tennis, tennis, volleyball and beach volleyball.

Cypriot athletes have secured a total of 84 medals, 32 gold, 32 silver and 20 bronze medals at the games which concluded yesterday. Cyprus Olympic Committee President Ouranios Ioannides called it “an absolute success”.

The Other Countries were Luxembourg, Iceland, Monaco, Liechenstein, Andorra, Montenegro, Malta and San Marino.
