London born, Xenios Matjilla has been selected by Arsenal for ball boy duties for the coming season. Over 200 entrants were reduced to 100 and Xenios made the final 20 selected following trials to test knowledge of the game and fitness. Xenios as an avid Arsenal fan said ‘this is a dream come true, I hope I bring the team some much needed luck !’

Xenios’ success this week continued into the weekend when he was awarded the prestigious Steven Toumbas award by the committee of OMONIA Youth FC. The award, introduced in remembrance of one OMONIA Youth’s best players and ambassadors, is awarded to a member of the club who has contributed to the club in a special way or achieved outstanding performance.

The award was given to Xenios for his interest and involvement to develop younger members of the club. As well as representing the under 14s, he has coached and officiated for the under 10’s forming a special bond with the kids.
