A MAN has died after he was hit by a Tube train at Southgate Station this morning.

The Piccadilly Line was suspended between Arnos Grove and Cockfosters following the incident, which happened just after 10am.

Firefighters, British Transport Police officers, and paramedics were called to the station, off Station Parade, to reports of a person under a train.

The man was declared dead at the scene, and a file is being prepared for the coroner. Police are not treating the incident as suspicious.

The tracks were handed back to London Underground at around 10.40am, but delays remain on the line.
