LEADERS – CYPRUS ISSUE
| The leaders of the two communities in Cyprus, President of the Republic Demetris Christofias and Turkish Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglu, meet on Thursday in the framework of the UN-led direct negotiations for a solution of the Cyprus problem.
The meeting will take place at the residence of the UN Secretary General`s Special Representative in Cyprus Liza Buttenheim, in the UN-protected area of Nicosia Airport, in the presence of the UN Secretary General`s Special Adviser on Cyprus Alexander Downer. During their previous meeting on May 5, the leaders of the two communities reached an agreement on guidelines on international treaties binding on a united Cyprus. |
