The illegal central bank publishes data on the Q4 of 2010According to the Turkish Cypriot daily Vatan (30.05.11), the so-called central bank has published a report concerning the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2010. According to the data, the foreign trade deficit of the occupation regime for 2010 was decreased by 6.65% in comparison with 2009, reaching 371.8 million USD in December 2010. On the contrary, the “public sector’s” revenues increased by 5.3% in 2010 reaching 2.642,9 million TL, in comparison to 2009 where it was 2.509,8 million TL.

In addition, the banking sector’s total active operations during 2010, compared to 2009, indicated an increase of 8.63%, reaching 8.416,8 million TL. In parallel, the number of the bank branches increased from 184 to 192 and the number of the bank personnel increased from 2.408 to 2.429.

Moreover, data regarding the number of the foreigners who visited the occupied area of Cyprus are also published, inter alia, in the report. Accordingly, the number of foreign travellers increased by 12.75% in 2010, rising from 800.376 people in 2009, to 902.390.
