A new batch of Covid vaccines has been delivered to the enclaved and resettled Greek Cypriots and Maronites, residing in the Turkish-occupied villages of Rizokarpaso, Ayia Triada, Cormakitis and Karpasia,
 
According to a press release issued by the Office of the Presidential Commissioner Photis Photiou, so far approximately all enclaved persons over 50 years old have been vaccinated and the vaccination of all adult persons will proceed immediately.
 
Speaking during a ceremony, Photiou expressed his gratitude to the President of Cyprus, for his personal and continued interest over the vaccination of the enclaved persons.
 
He also conveyed his gratitude to the Ministry of Health and to nurses in Karpasia and the Maronite villages for their contribution to the successful implementation of the vaccination programme.
 
Cyprus has been divided since 1974 when Turkey invaded and occupied 37 per cent of its territory.
