The Cyprus Health Ministry on Friday announced that COVID-19 tests will be conducted for all participants in matches of the Cyprus Football Association, except the ones in Division 1, and for retirement homes, following a decision by the Cabinet to step up measures to contain COVID-19.

Particularly 7,000 tests will be conducted to participants of CFA events, and the process has been agreed with the Association.

Moreover 1,777 tests will be done to employees and tenants of retirement homes. Tests will be done by a mobile unit.

The Ministry adds that as of yesterday tests are being conducted to 3,000 citizens of Larnaka district after COVID-19 clusters were detected and sparked worries.

Another 500 tests will be done to citizens of Achna community following increased cases among football players of Ethnikos Achnas football club.
