Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou and the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation donate £250,000 to the British Red Cross to help reward and recognise the dedication of those British Red Cross staff who are working on the front line of the COVID-19 response.  1,000 £250 John Lewis vouchers will be given to staff in front line positions across their independent living, crisis response and refugee services sector.

They are providing ambulance services, emergency response, helping people return home from hospital, delivering food parcels, and providing human contact for those self- isolating or experiencing the effects of loneliness, these workers are at the forefront of our response activities.

Mike Adamson Chief Executive British Red Cross said  ‘We are very grateful to you for recognising their vital contribution to the response against Covid-19.  Thank you once again for your incredibly generous offer. It is a privilege to be partnering with yourself and your foundation to honour our front line workers during this difficult and unprecedented time.’

Apparently it appears as though the higher ranks within the BRC have decided that people like myself who work for BRC in the role of PTS and I believe are the lowest paid are not getting any vouchers, even though we are front line workers risking ourselves transporting patients throughout the Covid19 pandemic.
