A murder investigation has been launched and a man arrested following a fatal stabbing in Walthamstow.

Police were called at 22:55hrs on Tuesday, 31 March, to a seriously injured male in Alexandra Road, E17.

Officers attended along with ambulance colleagues. The man, believed to be aged in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Enquiries are underway to establish the identity of the deceased and inform his next of kin. A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.

A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of murder. He was taken into police custody.

The investigation is being led by detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command.
