Dear Haringey resident,

As a doctor, I know how essential it is that we ALL follow the instructions from Public Health England.

The country is facing an unprecedented public health crisis due to the rapid spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

This virus is highly infectious and can prove fatal, especially to older people and those with an existing health condition.

We know that the vast majority of you are following the government’s advice, but a minority are not. There can be no exceptions to this – everyone has to do their part.

• DO NOT send your children to schools or yeshivas, even if they are open,

unless you have a key worker job. To do so could expose them and other members of your family and community to infection.

• DO NOT attend religious assemblies, social gatherings, celebrations or events.

• DO NOT congregate to pray or worship in groups, large or small.

• STAY AT HOME and do not leave the house unless you really need to.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

REGARDING THE CORONAVIRUS

If you do leave the house, please observe social distancing and stay AT LEAST 2m (6.5ft) away from anyone not in your household.

All individuals and communities must follow these guidelines. If some people do not, then more people will become infected and potentially lose their lives.

This information is vital for the health of your family and community. We will continue to work with local leaders to ensure that we can keep Haringey safe for all.

Yours sincerely

Dr Will Maimaris

Interim Director of Public Health for Haringey
