Akanthou 1 Omonia 5

Armenians 2 Cinar 2

Panathinaikos 0 Olympia 3

Akanthou 1 Omonia (London) 5

Following last week’s postponement against Akanthou, the fixture was rescheduled for this week at Powerleague Enfield as Akanthou’s home pitch was unavailable.
Omonia got off to a quick start , coming close to opening the scoring early on , before Lilyan broke the deadlock after 10 mins.

Akanthou then took control of the match , playing some lovely football through the midfield and forcing Omonia into a number of errors. Their reward came on the half hour , equalising from a free kick from Yiannis Pilavakis who whipped the ball into the back of the net.

This woke Omonia up and they broke through the high Akanthou defence , following a lovely pass by Savvas Petrou for Lilyan to round the keeper and score his second just before half time.Omonia took control of the match in the second half , when Harry Philippou’s free kick was headed in by Luke Robinson. This was quickly followed by a fourth with Deyonte Anthony’s first goal for the club. Jordan Downes wrapped up the three points a few minutes after coming on , with a header , that was initially ruled out for offside , but after the Referee consulted his assistant , he overturned his own decision.
So , all in all , not a great performance, but a vital three points fir Omonia to keep them on track for the top spot.
Scorers: Lilyan Marinov (2) , Deyonte Anthony, Luke Robinson , Jordan Downes

Olympia are keeping up the chase for the top spot lifting themselves to second place above Apoel by beating Panathinaikos 3-0.A good solid performance from Steve Cinotti’s team leading 2-0 at half time and eventually winning  3-0 their goals  coming from Elia, Dimi and Ricky.

A lively start to the game with Cinar making all the running and taking the lead after a Cullen French deflected shot. The second Cinar goal came after some great work by Erjan on the left wing crossing in for Yannick Kamanan to make it 0 – 2. Chance after chance was squandered by Cinar , even missing 2 one on ones. Inevitably Armenian youth broke against the run of play to pull one back. The Armenians bounced back in the second half, and deserved their equaliser both the Armenian goals were scored by Garo Heath. A great advert for Kopa football with the game played with respect for each other. Armenian youth 2 Cinar spor 2 snf both teams fighting for a respectable spot in the League.

Standings: Omonia 28,  Olympia 24, Apoel 22, Panathinaikos 19, Komi Kebir 16, Akanthou 8, Cinar, 5, Armenian Youth 4, Pantel 4.
