Omonia v Anorthosis match not played as Anorthosis have withdrawn from the league.
Anorthosis one of the founding teams of the KOPA League in 1975 and last year’s Championship and cup winners doing the double and one of the most successful teams in our league have decided to call it a day and withdrawn from the KOPA League.
In one of the early games Komi Kebir got off to a good start leading one nil from an exceptional free kick from their striker Anthony Georgiou, but soon Olympia were back in there going into the break 2-1 up and down to ten men when their attacking midfielder Elias was sent off.
The second half Komi Kebir were playing neat football with no outcome but Olympia just kept scoring and scoring and one goal that stood out for them was when George Cinotti picked up the ball in his own half and just flew past four Komi players before slotting the ball past the oncoming keeper into the bottom right hand corner of the goal. Other Olympia scorers were Sam 2,Ev, Dimi and Henry.
Panathinaikos beat Akanthou 4-1.Panathinaikos led 2-0 through scorers Giorgio with a far post shot, and an Andrea Polydorou header from a corner then Akanthou reduced the score to 2-1 through an own goal then Kyri Portou made it 4-1 with two goals.
Apoel were goal happy beating Cinar 7-1 but they were 1-0 down in the 21st minute and instead of Cinar building on their lead they just collapsed and Apoel went onto score seven goals and half time 4-1 their scorers were Alex Roussis, Max Papacosta 2, Vincent Lwanga, Kyriacos Kyriacou, Demetris Frangeskides and Marcos Kyprianou.
A much improved Pantel beat Armenians in a high scoring game 5-3.
The match Omonia v Anorthosis was postponed as Anorthosis have sent a letter to the KOPA League that they are withdrawing from the league.
