A murder investigation is underway following a shooting in Kentish Town.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service shortly before midnight on Sunday, 8 September to reports of a shooting on Malden Road, NW5.

Officers, including firearms officers, and London’s Air Ambulance attended. A man, believed to be aged in his 20s, was found suffering a gunshot injury and was pronounced dead at the scene at 00:10hrs on Monday, 9 September.

His next of kin are yet to be informed. Formal identification has not yet taken place.

A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command will investigate.

At this early stage, there have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
