UK Cypriot Nick Parpa did us proud by winning the Southern area Cruiserweight boxing title in the top of the bill fight at the Steve Goodwin promoted “FISTS OF FURY” night  in front of several Cypriot fans at a full house at the prestigious boxing venue York Hall in Bethnal Green last Saturday.

It was a tough fight for Nick and he went the distance in a 10 round fight versus the defending champion Daniel Mendes from Birmingham but came out with a comfortable and a comprehensive 99-91 points victory.

“Nightmare” Nick Parpa is trained by Joshua Burnham and has 9 wins from 10 contests so far with 5 of the wins coming by stoppage. Nick has explosive power and is one of the most exciting and explosive cruiserweights around.

Mendes put in a highly impressive performance to win the title against Danny Couzens  in March 2019.

For Nick Parpa, it was his first attempt at a title. He boasts a record of 9-1 with his only loss being against Vasil Ducar (1-0) in his fifth fight, a hard-hitting Czech Republic boxer with six KOs from seven wins, who is now the current WBF Inter-Continental Cruiserweight champion and recently unsuccessfully fought for the IBO world cruiserweight title in June this year against South African Kevin Lerena.

“I was on top against Ducar until I walked onto a shot [right hook] and look at what he has achieved since.” Also heavy-handed, Parpa has stopped five of his victims inside the distance.
