Komi Kebir FC celebrated in style on Sunday 16th June 2019 at the Radiomarathon Centre in Enfield it was their 30th anniversary since their mentor the late Savvas Savvides started the ball rolling and forming Komi Kebir Youth team which was under the umbrella of the Komi Kebir Association that already had a senior club PAOK formed in 1975 and eventually putting the both teams under the one name Komi Kebir and moving the youth to senior level and are still here thriving in the KOPA League.

Alot of those players from 89 are still involved with the Club. It was great to see all these people like one big family organising the event with a massive barbecue, football matches for the veterans & current team attracted 50 players alone plus a U12s match.

Live entertainment from the group Zoi, a bouncing castle and ice cream on tap too. There was plenty to do for all the older generation who were catching up on old times and the young having a laugh. It was also great to see the late Savvas Savvides family in attendance and Savvas son and ex player Yianno who came from Cyprus to be at this special event.

Speeches were made by the Chairman Chris Athanasi, committee member Mario Michael, the management team Mario Christou and Andy Kyprianides and awards were made to each players in the club and special Savva Savvides Outstanding Contribution awards were presented by Yianno Savvides to Nick Hanna, Kypros Panaretou, Peter Vassiliou, Cypressa the club sponsors for 30yrs & Ari Hadjikkou.

Congratulations to all from the volunteers who cooked the food and set up to create a great day. A benchmark for all KOPA clubs. Here’s to another 30yrs!!!!
