Tottenham Court Road was successfully switched to a two-way road on Saturday 20 April.

The new southbound lane is for buses and cyclists only, while all traffic can continue to travel northbound. This arrangement will be in place 24 hours a day until spring 2020.

Bus routes have been moved from Gower Street / Bloomsbury Street on to Tottenham Court Road. Stewards will be in place this week to help guide you through the area.

Please drive carefully while pedestrians, cyclists and other traffic get used to the new two-way system. Pedestrians should look both ways, be careful when crossing the road and use the pedestrian crossings.

This switch was part of the London Borough of Camden’s West End Project to transform the Tottenham Court Road area, which is expected to be completed by spring 2020. More information about the project, including the works programme, is available on Camden’s website.
