Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Michael Road in Leytonstone.

Almost half of the first floor and part of the roof of the mid-terraced house were damaged by the fire. One woman left the property before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.

The Brigade was called at 2331 and the fire was under control by 0124. Fire crews from Leytonstone, Leyton and Walthamstow fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
