AEK U10s

played against Bushey Rangers in cold conditions, but the weather didn’t deter AEK who produced an excellent eye-catching performance scoring 5 great goals.

With the boys all constantly rotating positions, each player performed admirably, showing fantastic application, willingness to work hard and play as a team.

A real Man of the Match performance from Deen who scored a hat-trick, including an unstoppable long range left-footed curler into the top corner. Lucca was rewarded for his hard work and got on the scoresheet with a tidy finish and a fantastic goal from Marcus whose right-footed free-kick was blocked but instinctively hit a sweet left-footed volley into the top corner.

Plenty of smiles all round, as the boys are developing into a great team and are really enjoying their footballing journey.

AEK U16 Black went down 2-1 against 100% Soccer. A slow start saw us 2-0 down after 20 minutes, and whilst we then pushed on and played a lot better we left ourselves too much to do. Real shame as 100% Soccer are one of the teams alongside us chasing down the leaders. Anyway, out of the frying pan and into the fire as we have a cup quarter final next week against Enfield Town who are flying high in the red division.

After last week’s battle draw with only 11 players against the top team, a few more players made themselves available for today’s fixture away in Radlett. Due to a partly frozen pitch the game was delayed by 25 minutes and coupled with a very pedantic referees who issued more directions than a sat nav system, it was hard for the players to maintain focus. As a result, they started very slow and the opposing team took control of the game for most of the half scoring one goal which could have been far more before half time. Following a sharp half time team talk they came out with a different attitude and applied constant pressure on the opposing team goal, they got a well deserved equalliser. The wave of attacks continued and they scored 3 more (1pen) with the help of the 3 subs, to wrap up a well deserved win. Scorers: Alexander Barbe (2) Andreas Tzouliou (pen) and Jordan Conway MOM: Aiden McFadden.
