We had the opportunity to interview UK Cypriot 73 year old Phivos Alexandrou and what an interesting life he has had.

Last week he had the horrible experience while he was working in the kitchen of the cafe he owns in Highbury in Islington when he heard screaming, his tenant rushed in shouting that a man had threatened her with a knife so he went to investigate armed with a rolling pin and chased the attacker.

Soon after Phivos rang the police and they came and found the attacker in the vicinity and arrested him.

Phivos has had the Park Cafe in Highbury for 43 years and is well known with the locals and the Arsenal fans as the Emirates stadium stands in the background.

Phivos is from the beautiful village of Spilia situated in the Troodos mountains in Cyprus and before coming to the UK he studied engineering in Germany and then went to the USA where he hoped to start a new life but only stayed there a little time and came to the UK where he worked for a Greek shipping company as an engineer and having the benefit of visiting alot of places around the world. And then the opportunity came along to own his own business and he is still there.
