Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were called to a fire at a house in Kendal Avenue in Edmonton.

Most of the roof and half of the first floor of a semi-detached house were damaged by the fire. One man left the property before the arrival of the Brigade. He was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by London Ambulance Service crews.

The Brigade was called at 0839 and the fire was under control at 1008. Fire crews from Edmonton, Enfield, Tottenham, Hornsey and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
