Detectives investigating a moped enabled phone theft in Edgware that has left a young woman fighting for her life have made two arrests.

On Thursday, 7 June, officers arrested two males aged 17 and 18 years on suspicion of robbery. They have been taken to a north London police station where they remain at this time.

Police were called at approximately 21:10hrs on Monday, 4 June to reports of a woman injured following a moped enabled robbery in Holyrood Gardens, Edgware.

The woman, aged 24 was approached by two males on a moped. The pillion passenger struggled with the victim and then the rider of the moped dismounted and punched her and stole her mobile phone and bag.

The males made off on the moped in the direction of Stag Lane.

The victim suffered a head injury during the course of the incident. She was taken by London Ambulance Service to a north London hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
