Officers in Haringey have arrested and charged a teenager who carried out at least seven robberies on Thursday, 7 June, while a pillion passenger on a moped.

The series of robberies took place between 13:15hrs and 14:15hrs in Hornsey, Crouch End and Muswell Hill.

At around 14:20hrs on 7 June, officers from Haringey responding to the robberies identified two suspects on a moped in Middle Lane, N8. They detained the pillion passenger, but the rider of the moped rode off.

The 14-year-old boy, who is from Tottenham, was taken into custody at a north London police station. A total of 13 mobile phones were found in the boy’s possession.

The youth will appear in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 9 June, charged with seven counts of robbery.

Nine of the 13 mobile phones recovered from the youth have been identified and already returned to their owners.
