North Londoner Kyriacos Georgiou, 24, who moved to Athens to pursue a career in music six years ago, will be joining forces with Konstantinos Argiros to perform at the Cypriot Wine Festival in London on 27 & 28 May!

We last saw Kyriacos at our event in 2015 where he shared the same stage with the legendary Anna Vissi, and we are extremely excited to have him back!

Born to a Greek Cypriot mother and half Greek Cypriot-half Italian father, Kyriacos has always dreamed of a singing career. After finishing Enfield Grammar School, the singer furthered his studies at Chickenshed Theatre in Southgate where he was given the opportunity to perform in various musical theatre productions.

His passion for music derives from his late father who would play the bouzouki. He also owned the Hellenic Greek Taverna in Luton where Kyriacos started singing at the age of 14.

At 15, he started working at bouzoukia in London, first at Arizona, then in 2012 and 2013 at the well known Elysee in Percy Street.

Kyriacos’ talent first got recognised by singer Giorgos Papadopoulos and his management in 2013; Giorgo went on to pen Kyriacos’ first single Sta Asteria Psila.

It wasn’t long before Kyriacos was packing his bags and heading to Athens. He signed to Panik / Platinum record label and began appearing at Rex club in the Greek capital alongside Angela Dimitriou, Nino and Konstantinos Argiros.

Argiros held Kyriacos with his team in 2014/2015 at Posidonio nightclub alongside Eleni Hatzidou.

In 2014, Kyriacos released his second single, Eisai O Logos, written once again by Giorgos Papadopoulos. A further track, Paizeis, followed in 2015, written by Paris.

In 2016, he made the move to Spicy music label and released the single Oso Yparxeis Esy and Den Pao Apopse Spiti. During that period, he began performances at Pyli Axiou in Thessaloniki alongside the late Pantelis Pantelidis, Despina Vandi and Kostas Martakis.

Later that year, he released Sto Poto Mou Rixse Stahti, produced by Giannis Iermias; the single later got released in Bulgaria by Bulgarian pop/folk artist Maria.

Towards the end of the year, going into 2017, Kyriacos performed at VOX alongside Antypas and Giorgos Giannias.

He was then introduced to the Bulgarian music market and was asked to collaborate with Anelia, one of biggest selling artists in Bulgaria. Their duet Pos Tin Ides – Kazhi Mi made it to No.1 in the Balkan musical charts for several weeks and has hit over 6 million views on YouTube.

Earlier this year saw the release of Kyriacos’ new single Sta Pio Trela Mou Oneira by Cobalt Music, with music by Sofia Pechlivani and lyrics by Jackpot.

He also joined Despina Vandi on tour, adding to the list of collaborations he has enjoyed over the years including Anna Vissi, Helena Paparizou, Kostas Karafotis and many more.

Kyriacos has performed in Bulgaria, Israel, Serbia, Germany, Jerusalem, Florida, Dubai, Cyprus, many of the Greek Islands and on a cruise touring with 500 American Greeks around the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, St. Kitts, St. Nevis and Haiti.

We look forward to welcoming him to the 36th CyWineFest!

Ciao for now,

Andrea
